Tidewatchers Booster Club
The TIDEWATCHERS Booster Club is an active and exciting organization that exists to promote baseball, particularly the Norfolk Tides, throughout the year in the Tidewater community. The Booster Club is always eager to add new members, and becoming a TIDEWATCHER is easy. Membership applications can be found in the Tides program or at the Information Booth behind home plate on the concourse. Benefits of membership include the opportunity to make several trips to Major League and Minor League games during the season, monthly meetings with interesting guest speakers, the chance to meet your favorite Tides at the annual “Meet the Tides” Reception, a summer picnic at which the Tides are the guests of honor, the chance to present TIDEWATCHER awards to individual players on the field, a TIDEWATCHERS Christmas Party, and the opportunity to interact with others who share your passion for baseball.
The next TIDEWATCHERS monthly meeting for 2008 will be held at 7:15 PM on Monday evening August 25th in the "Hits at the Park" Restaurant at Harbor Park. The Guest Speaker will be local well-known sports personality Jack Ankerson. Jack holds the positions of Executive Director, Hampton Roads Sports Commission and Vice President, Sports Development, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. He has a wealth of sports experience in this area and should have plenty of insight and information to pass along to the membership. Please plan to come out and attend the meeting if you can!.
New Tidewatchers sportswear is available for purchase through Sportswear Chairpersons Robbie Hunger or Steve Carulli. Orange and royal blue T-shirts, golf shirts, and sweatshirts and gray long-sleeved shirts with the Tidewatcher logo are available now. Additional information and an Order Form will be in the next newsletter and will be reiterated at future meetings.
Unfortunately, due to lack of interest and participation, all trips for this year have been cancelled. Anyone with questions or anyone who might have already paid a deposit for any trip, should contact any of the Board members below or Trip and Transportation Coordinator Bobby Watlington. Bobby's contact information is Bobby6412@aol.com or 464-2172 and 270-0270.
