The Virginian-Pilot Picnic Area accommodates groups between 50 and 350 fans, and is located just beyond the left-center field wall. The picnic area is located on a raised hill, which provides an excellent view of all the baseball action. You may even be lucky enough to catch a home run!

There are two seatings for the Virginian-Pilot Picnic Area. The Pre-Game Picnics begin 1 1/2 hours prior to game time and end right as the game begins. In-Game Picnics begin 15 minutes after the scheduled game time and run for 1 1/2 hours. There is a $4.00 city parking fee per vehicle at Harbor Park.

Specially priced coupons redeemable for draft beer, during the time of your picnic only are available for $3.00 (plus tax). Regular price is $4.00. Any number may be purchased at the time of settlement with a minimum purchase of 100 required. We will try to accommodate any special menu requests. Age requirements: Under 2 - eat free; 2-8 - Kids Price; 9 and above - Adult Price.
If your group size is 250-350 people, you will have the picnic area EXCLUSIVELY for one of the seatings (TOTAL TICKET BALANCE MUST BE PAID AS A NON-REFUNDABLE/NON TRANSFERABLE DEPOSIT IN ADVANCE TO SCHEDULE AN EXCLUSIVE PICNIC). Otherwise, due to the Virginian-Pilot Picnic Area's high demand, on most dates, we will have several groups enjoying picnics during each seating. Seating is "open-seating". There is no designated areas for groups. There is a $4.00 City Parking Fee per vehicle at Harbor Park.
Please note that the ticket price is not included in the food price. For ticket pricing, please refer to our group rates . Only two different menu choices are allowed during a picnic. Because of that, your menu may be based on another group's menu selection.
HOW TO SET UP YOUR PICNIC IN THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT PICNIC AREA
1) Call the Tides' Group Sales Office at 622-2222 (ext. 103 or ext. 171) to select a date, a minimum of two weeks in advance (subject to availability). Please be prepared to give a close estimate of the number of people attending. We recommend booking well in advance!
2) Provide a required NON-REFUNDABLE/NONTRANSFERABLE deposit of $3.00 per ticket within 72 hours of placing the reservation. We accept checks, cash, MasterCard and VISA. The Tides reserve the right to cancel any Group not paying their deposit in a timely manner or for any considered valid reason. Deposits apply to final balance.
3) Call ten days in advance of your date to provide your final ticket count. (Tickets will not be added once final count has been processed) Please note that you must observe the 50 person minimum. Payment balance and ticket pickup is expected seven (7) days in advance of your date. Special Picnic Tickets are needed for access to the area. No extra guests are allowed into the picnic area without specialized tickets.
In the event that your date is postponed, we will attempt to work with you to reschedule your event. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HOLD ON TO ALL OF YOUR TICKETS BECAUSE THEY WILL NEED TO BE RETURNED TO BE RESCHEDULED! If no satisfactory group date is available, your rainchecks will be honored for any remaining non-restricted regular season home game during that season. THERE WILL BE NO CASH REFUNDS.
